PriceWrench
In developmentManage minimum advertised pricing (MAP) and lower customer prices in Shopify. Choose who receives the discount, explain the offer with a product-page banner, and apply eligible discounts automatically in cart and checkout.
Try a sample
Explore banner styling, then compare guest and logged-in messaging with sample discount eligibility.
Low text contrast (3.5:1). Try darker text or a lighter background for easier reading.
Eligibility is a product setting. Banner wording and colors do not grant access to a discount.
Fictional sample product
$110.00 USD
The store’s native product price stays visible.
Simulated checkout eligibility
$30.00 discount eligible
Sample price after discount: $80.00 USD, before tax and shipping.
The same savings message is shown to both shopper states by default. Showing savings does not make a guest eligible for a login-only discount.
Interactive design sample using $110 original, $80 selling, and $30 savings (27%). No cart, login, checkout, or Shopify changes are performed.
Pricing with a clear purpose
01
Enter a MAP price and a lower customer price for each configured product. Saving MAP pricing updates its Shopify price. The current editor works with the first variant of each product.
02
The difference between the regular price and your customer price becomes a discount on each eligible item in cart and checkout. Shoppers do not need a discount code. The configured variant, price, and currency must match.
03
Offer a product’s discount to everyone or require the customer to log in. Access is set per product, so you can use different eligibility rules across your configured catalog.
04
Show savings as an amount, a percentage, or a custom message. Choose a separate guest message with an optional login link when you want visitors to sign in before seeing the savings message.
05
Adjust colors, typography, icons, spacing, and mobile styling. Use presets and preview eligible-customer or guest messages before saving. The styling preview uses sample prices and does not change product pricing.
06
Search your products and filter by vendor, Shopify status, or pricing status. Save individual changes, save edited products together, or disable a product’s discount while keeping its current Shopify price.
07
Import CSV or XLSX prices, review product matches, and stage the changes in the editor before saving them to Shopify. Export product pricing to an XLSX file for review outside the app.
08
Add a Discount Widget through the theme editor or enable the Automatic Banner to place the message above a detected product price. Placement depends on your theme and needs to be checked on your storefront.
The workflow
01
Choose a product, enter MAP and customer prices, and review the Shopify price change before saving.
02
Set the product’s discount eligibility. Style the savings banner and decide what guests should see.
03
Activate a banner on your product template. Check the configured variant, guest and logged-in experiences, and the final discount in checkout.
Good to know
Saving MAP pricing updates the configured variant’s regular Shopify price, which your theme displays. PriceWrench adds a savings or guest-message banner on the product page; it does not replace the theme’s price with a private logged-in price. The automatic discount applies to eligible cart lines and appears through Shopify’s cart and checkout discount presentation. Cart display depends on the theme.
Each product can offer its discount to everyone or logged-in customers only. Turn on customer access controls in Settings to edit that choice. Hiding the controls later preserves existing rules. A login-only discount requires an authenticated customer at checkout. Guests can still see advertised savings when the same message is used for everyone. Choose a separate guest message to withhold that savings message until login. This is not customer-tag targeting or a guarantee that pricing information is confidential.
Saving MAP pricing updates the first variant’s Shopify price to the MAP value and sets a lower customer-price target. Disabling PriceWrench pricing stops its discount for that product but does not restore an earlier Shopify price. If the regular Shopify price changes later, the app can recalculate savings while retaining the customer-price target when the configuration remains valid. It does not enforce a permanent advertised-price floor.
The editor configures the first variant of each product, not every variant. MAP must be positive, the customer price must be lower, and amounts support up to two decimal places. Discounts require the configured currency and regular price to match the cart line; converted currencies are not automatically supported. The managed discount allows combination with shipping discounts, but not other product or order discounts. Shopify still determines which applicable discount is used.
The app’s automatic discount must be active, and the storefront banner must be enabled on the product template. A Discount Widget requires a theme section that supports app blocks. The Automatic Banner looks for a product-price location and supports a custom selector when needed. Verify your theme, variant picker, customer login, and currency setup. Universal theme compatibility is not guaranteed.
PriceWrench provides pricing and messaging controls. It does not interpret manufacturer policies, monitor every advertised channel, or guarantee legal or manufacturer-policy compliance. Merchants need to choose prices, eligibility, and messages that fit their own requirements.
With Shopify reporting permission, Analytics shows orders with PriceWrench discounts, net discounted units, and customer savings after reported returns, with product and recent-order breakdowns. It also displays associated net merchandise sales and eligible banner-view counts. These are reporting totals, not proof of extra revenue caused by the app. The aggregate discounted-order rate does not connect an individual banner view to a purchase. Reporting availability depends on Shopify access and data, and refunds affect the period in which they are reported.
