Set up your first product price

Learn what each price means, configure one product, and check the result before expanding to your catalog.

What you’ll accomplish

One product has a saved MAP Price and Customer Price, and you know how to verify its storefront and checkout behavior.

Before you start

  • Open the installed PriceWrench app from the correct store in Shopify Admin.
  • Have permission to change product pricing and a verified active plan with room for another pricing-enabled product.
  • Choose a product whose first variant, SKU, intended advertised price, and intended customer price you can identify.
  • Use a small, controlled first change. Saving MAP Price changes that Shopify variant's regular price.

Understand the three prices

Home shows a product pricing table. Shopify Price is the current price of the product's first Shopify variant. MAP Price is the advertised price you want PriceWrench to save to that variant. Customer Price is the target price for an eligible customer's checkout discount.

For example, entering 100.00 as MAP Price and 80.00 as Customer Price configures 20.00 in savings. The MAP amount must be positive, the Customer Price must be lower, and amounts can have at most two decimal places.

Find the product on Home

  1. Open Home

In App setup guide, Set up pricing moves you to the pricing table. You can also work directly in the table below the guide.

  2. Narrow the list

Use Search products, vendors, or SKUs, All vendors, All Shopify statuses, or All PriceWrench statuses. Choose Clear filters if a product seems to be missing.

  3. Confirm the row

Check the product title, vendor, SKU, and Shopify Price. The product title opens its Shopify product page for a separate check.

Enter and save the pricing

  1. Enter MAP Price

For a Not configured row, enter the intended advertised price in MAP Price. Leaving a prefilled amount unchanged still means that amount is the intended Shopify variant price.

  2. Enter Customer Price

Enter the lower checkout target using a plain number such as 80.00. Review Savings and check that the difference is what you intended.

  3. Choose Set Discount

This starts the live save. Wait for the saving progress to finish, then check for the saved-success message and the Configured status.

  4. Resolve any row error

If the row shows Needs attention or an error, read it before retrying. Correct the values or plan issue; do not assume a failed save left every previous price unchanged.

Complete the storefront setup

  1. Style the message

Open Settings, choose the banner appearance, and use Save settings. The separate banner guide explains the preview and customer-access options.

  2. Install one banner method

Return to Home and expand Install Discount Banner. Use Add Discount Widget for an app-block placement, or Enable Automatic Banner for automatic placement. Save the change in Shopify's Theme Editor.

  3. Check installation

Return to PriceWrench and choose Check installation. Look for a verified installation on the published theme.

  4. Verify the customer journey

Open the active, published product on the storefront. Select the configured variant and check the banner, then check the cart and checkout price using the intended customer login state and currency.

Know what is complete

A Configured row means the app's stored pricing passes its configuration checks. A verified banner installation means a supported installation was detected. Neither replaces checking your particular theme and checkout.

App setup guide tracks Set up pricing, Stylize widget, and Install Discount Banner. A completed guide can collapse to Setup complete with a Help button. Analytics is optional and does not have to be enabled for product pricing to work.

  • If Set Discount is unavailable, check that MAP Price is positive and Customer Price is lower.
  • If a product is not shown, clear search and status filters before assuming it is absent.
  • If the app asks you to reopen it from Shopify Admin, do so rather than entering a shop domain into an unrelated page.
